Scale Burgers in Elbe

For burgers and fries you can't beat this place. It is the accommodation that bring the ratings down. There is no place to sit, and it is completly open to the elements. It is a good stopping spot for people heading out to jeep trails.

This is a place I've been coming to for over 15 years. If your in elbe or just passing through you must stop here for the best burgers..you will not be disappointed I promise.the lady's that work here are the best ever.i come here all the time I only have 1 leg and they come out to my truck.they HAVE THE BEST DAMN BURGERS IN TOWN NOT THE BAR DOWN THE STREET....

Cash only. Expect a long wait for food to come out if there's a crowd but everything I had was excellent. One of the best burgers I've had in a longe time. Not the type of place your stop in a hurry through in weekend evenings coming out of Rainer

Great place to stop for a burger if you happen up or down the mountain road. Small drive with outdoor seating only. A little on the pricey side but delicious. Can be extremely busy. I normally just order the regular cheeseburger and a shake which is fantastic.

Food took a long time, burgers were nothing to write home about and were pretty small for the price.

Amazing food and service! The people that work there care about the people who order there. And remember when you come back I always order the grilled cheese and fries with a Marshmallow and chocolate shake!!

Can't help but leave 1 star review. I ordered my hamburger at around 11:55, it is 1:05p now and I still haven't got it. I'm here with a rather big group of riders and we were supposed to start the ride back at 1pm. Having to wait more than an hour for my meal is ridiculous.They give me my hamburger at around 1:15pm, with no apology. This is the first and the last time I'm eating here.

Iv read a lot of good from this place. Ate there twice. Friendly people. The place is a tourist attraction. For the price you pay isnt in my opinion the best. It's a good place for tourist. But the competition around them so far is better. The food was good. But the price was high.

We only came for a milkshake, but what a milkshake it was. Thick, creamy peanut butter and malt goodness. It's a no-frills cabin and the prices reflect that. Around 4 dollars for a milkshake, which is significantly cheaper than in fancy or trendy places. It's also an interesting spot to stop by and walk around the former railcars, where it feels like time has frozen.

Super delicious, classic fast food but made fresh on order. Little side of road place, walk up window, outdoor seating. Only accepts cash.

It's rustic. All the tables are outside. There's umbrellas to help keep the sun off. There's a bit of a view of Alder Lake, with mountains all around. Burgers were nice. There was milkshakes and pop available. I'll stop in again when I'm out there again.

Love scale burgers! Wish they were open year round!! But every time we fish Alder lake or mineral lake we stop and get one if there delicious burgers!! Though it's a little speedy but that's probably due to not being open year round...

My family and I ate here mostly for the cool location. There wasnt anything wrong with the food, but no where near worth what they charge for it. It's your run of the mill burger.

Stoped here today after a visit to Mr Rainier..waited to place may order just to find out this is a cash only business..i wonder how much money they have lost by not accepting debt or credit? So I can't really give a good or bad review in regards to the food. This review is more to let others know to bring cash

I love there burgers, fries and especially onion rings. I drive 40 miles to go there when I can. The food is that good. Only thing is you have to make sure you have cash.

I heard about this place from a co-worker. He stops every summer on the way to his family's camp spot. Feared that it would be seasonal, but they were open Thanksgiving weekend. $25 for two delicious burgers, french fries, and a chocolate shake. Just across the street is all sorts of train-based businesses. Makes for a fun and filling stop.

Friendly service, delicious food.

I had a “meh” experience. Took 35 minutes for a grilled cheese and 2 shakes. The chocolate shake was too thick and had ice chunks. $7 for a grilled cheese with no fries and slow service? No thanks. I wish I had gone somewhere else for lunch afterwards.

Have stopped here for years..great burgers..if you are really hungry go for the overload..dang..burgers all have log truck names..steak fries..great shakes..been awhile so I ordered the overload.. couldn't finish my fries..

A must stop on your way to or back from Rainier or if you just so happen to be in the area. The atmosphere gives you a refreshing reminder that not all good burgers have to come from a fancy sit down restaurant sometimes they can come out of a shack where they call your playing card rather than your name!

Takes way too long. Rediculous, I should have noticed that NO ONE out of all the tables had food. Took an HOUR. Takes no cash which is fine, go across the street and get the other food. Almost $9 for this? Is this a joke?

Classic burgers and shakes... with a deck of cards twist!

We ordered the Overload and Legal burger with fries and a drink. It ended up being $25 and an hour and 10 minute wait. We were recommended this place by a friend, so we purposely stopped on the way back from camping. The burger was okay, nothing special and the fries were just bland steak fries. I didn't see or feel anything special to warrant the price or wait, or the cash only mandate. The overload burger was smaller than my legal burger. They weren't nearly big enough, even for small stomach. Out and About burger is ahead of this place, and the chain Five Guys is comparable to the price but has bigger burgers, that taste a lot better, with a large amount of fries given.If the wait hadn't been so long I would've given a 3.5 star, but again nothing about the food warranted the stop, price, or wait. It was something you could've made at home.

After reading Map reviews, I decided to swing by here on my way back to Seattle from Mt. Rainier and I'm glad I did. The menu was split on both sides of the cashier's window, so initially I missed the shakes side, and when I told the cashier of this she replied, "the shakes are amazing", so after such a bold statement I had to try one - and I'm glad I did.The burger was good, in its own right, but the shake was definitely on another level, and all I bought was the vanilla (they had about 8 other flavors to choose from, as well as a malt style). Highly recommended.

Like none other. I stopped here on my way home from the park, and after a 20 min wait had the best burger in Washington. the jalapeno was a fabulous touch. Large picnic tables came equipped with umbrellas. made for a great seat! Cash only. Thank you!

Awesome burger! After reading the reviews we had to stop. We are visiting from Detroit Michigan and heard about scale burgers. Definitely worth the wait and the shakes and onion rings were out of this world!

Always really good food sometimes there is a wait but it is well worth it.
